Bit nervous...tomorrow w/b the first
day of DH watching baby all day & then DH having to go to work at night. I've been nervous/anxious about this for weeks. He has a labor-intensive job & truly needs his sleep. I'm afraid a) he won't hear her when she clries b) he'll be up w/ her but then w/b beyond exhausted when he gets into work. I know countless people have done it b4, but I'm just so afraid & have been scared it will lead to us fighting, him being majorly cranky, etc.
Just venting.

Re: Bit nervous...tomorrow w/b the first
I know how you feel. DD was almost 5 months old when I went back to work (overnight). She was still waking a few times a night, and DH sleeps like a log!!! Seriously, the phone is right next to him and he never hears it ring. Anyway, I was so afraid that he wouldn't hear her and she'd be crying all night with nobody answering her. Well, guess what -- he hears her every time. I guess they develop that ear for the baby crying just like we do. And by the way, he still doesn't hear the phone!
I hope things work out well for you and DH. He just has to be sure to sleep when she does during the day. Will he be able to get a few hours once you get home from work before he has to go in?

Well I got home about 4 & DD was freshly changed, dressed (in a sleeper ) & he was in her room w/ her doing tummy time. All seemed to be great.
YET then I looked in the fridge & it seems she only drank 7 oz. ALL DAY! I asked him how this was possible & he said I tried giving her more & she wouldn't take it. This is NOT like her at all...usually she is crying to eat EVERY 2-3 hours & will take 4.5 oz at a sitting. So in 10 hours he claims she only wanted 7 oz......NOW I'm paranoid that she was crying for him & he didn't hear her
I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings.
Then just to vent more...I walked in & cleaned his dishes in the sink, made him dinner, took baby from him & noticed the garbage still sitting where its been since last night & I'm currently pumping, although I'm dead exhausted & have been up since 445 today.
