Biting Toddler... any suggestions?!
My 22 month old has been biting a lot lately and I don't know what to do. We have given her time outs, explained that biting is wrong but she still continues to do it. She doesn't do it out of aggression. She will be playing nicely with her cousin and all the sudden just bites her. Today she bit her cousin twice and broke the skin. I'm so upset about it and don't know what to do! any suggestions would be great!

Re: Biting Toddler... any suggestions?!
DS went through a phase like this. We even went so far as to have him evaluated by Early iNtervention b/c his previous daycare felt that it was a huge problem. Some suggestions OT and psychologist had given us were to allow him to chew more textured foods and to give him a vibrating toothbrush that he can bite. We also read the book "teeth are not for biting" every day. We also switched his daycare and it made SOOOOOO much of a difference! Knock on wood, he hasn't bitten anyone in a month and a half! He is also 22 months!
