Driving to Florida with a toddler...need suggestions
DH wants to go to Florida thi summer, and to save some $$ we decided to drive. Well, when I say "we" I mean I want to go, and while economically it's better to drive, I really don't want to...but I agreed to go. So, we have a 14 yo who has done this before and won't be a problem at all, and a 20 mo doing it for the 1st time. What time of the day is best to leave? At night, so he can sleep...late afternoon, and then stop for dinner? Will he sleep his normal 10-12 hours if we are driving? What can I bring for him to do if anything in the car?

I haven't done it but we did consider it when we went in February. We would have left early evening (hopefully avoiding rush area - we are in NJ so heading south from here shouldn't have been a problem) and driven until we needed to stop, switching drivers every few hours. I don't know your child but with my kids, they fall asleep very easily in the car so that would have been OK.
