Black specks in the bottom of my DS's rice cereal! What could this be.- edited w/updated Q

So i just finished feeding my DS his third meal of rice cereal mixed with BM. We get to the bottom and I see little black specks mixed in with the remaining liquid Chat Icon What the heck could this be? At first i thought it was from the rice cereal but i powdered it in my fingers and no black specks! Now i am thinking it came off of the bowl and spoon - they are a winnie the pooh set, of course, from where else but CHINA Chat Icon Any ideas of what could this be? Did this ever happen to anyone else?

ETA: SO I dumped the whole box into a plastic bag and I didn't see any black - no specks and no bugs - if it were bugs or from the rice wouldn't I see it? Thanks ladies

Not to gross you out, but when i see black specks in cereal, first thing i think of is little bugs and i throw the whole thing out or bring it back to the store.
Bugs are very common in cereals. ewwww but true...

maybe its just part of the rice that turned color.

I definitely don't think they were bugs! The were specks like dirt but even thinner. They weren't moving and not big enough to be bugs lol! UGH, I should have looked closer b/f I threw it out!

Ok, so I just dumped the whole cereal box into a plastic bag - no bugs, no black specks, nothing! Wouldn't I see something if it came from the cereal?

It was probably just the grain or something. I don't think it's bugs.

I say if you didn't see any other specs than it's just grains.

I've seen bugs before not just in cereal but in pastas, so i'm already grossed out so as soon i see something dark in there, i panic and chuck it.
