Re: Blackberry users...couple of questions
I have one for work.
If I didnt need it for work, I would not have one. Too expensive for just reading email - I'm not that important. I dont need this thing just to read an email from my friend saying hello - if they need to contact me urgently they have my phone number.
The phone part - stinks.
I have service almost everywhere, but websurfing is slow. Its easy to use the browser, but realize that you arent going to have the full functionality of the pages.. I only goto gmail and cnn, anything else its not worth the trouble.

I have a BlackBerry Pearl from Work.
I use it for receiving and sending Emails. I work in the It Departments and its made my life so much eaiser. I can get emails telling what is going on with computer system.
I don't use it for the Internet at all.
and for the phone. it works just fine

Re: Blackberry users...couple of questions
Is is easy to use the internet? Yes, as long as the site you're going to is mobile friendly.
can you get on in most places? I've never really had a problem anywhere, unless there was no cell reception in the location (like the Adirondacks.)
is it annoying to use as phone? I have the Pearl and have no problems with it as a phone. DH has the 7130 (I believe) and that thing is glued to his ear (phone calls) or hand (emails)...it's definitely easy to use as a phone.
anything you don't like? Both DH and I love ours. DH loves the scroll wheel on the side on his and I love the Pearl feature on mine.
Which one do you have? I have the Pearl and DH has the 7130

Re: Blackberry users...couple of questions
I have the Blackberry 8703e from Verizon.
Getting on the Internet is a bit of a PITA b/c it's a little slow.
Making phone calls - not a problem, but the volume isn't as great. I tend to use a headset w/it in order to hear better.
I use it 99.9% for the email function.
What will be your main use for it - email, internet, or telephone?

Re: Blackberry users...couple of questions
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my crackberry! I don't know what I did before I had one! The internet is super easy. My on suggestion - get one like the one I have 8700C that has a key for every character of the alphabet - the ones that have several letters on one key are ANNOYING! and it would be like using your regular mobile phone when texting and emailling.
I highly recommend the 8700C - the reception is great - internet is great and the display is crystal clear!

To be honest, I think there are a lot better phones w/internet use that are better.
I think the blackberry is mainly geared towards email receiving and sending.

I didn't realize that- it would be nice to check email also- but as a 3rd option
any recommendation on internet phone?

Re: Blackberry users...couple of questions
I have Verizon...
I really like it, my emails actually hit my blackberry before my desktop sometimes...as for internet, it's definitely S-L-O-W...
if you have a phone signal than you have an internet one.
it works fine as a phone, a little bulky and the backround noise bleeds in and makes it difficult sometimes (but I think that would be different if you use the earpiece)
hope that helps...
I am ADDICTED...

2 people I work with just got the Q. They love it & asked me if I wanted one... I said I would see... I don't know if I want to be on email 24-7.

Re: Blackberry users...couple of questions
i have a blackberry 8703e and like others have said, i use it mostly for checking my work email (outlook)
i wouldn't recommend it for ebay. it is very difficult to navigate internet sites, and it is pretty slow.
even though i can use it to check my yahoo mail, i rarely do because i'm too impatient

Re: Blackberry users...couple of questions
I have the 7290
I use it for work mostly just for emails. I like it just b.c I am use to it now
It works just fine - although I don't use it for a phone or web surfing
I would not recommend the 7290 if you are looking for phone use or internet use
