Waxing.. Couple of questions..
Ok.. today I was at a salon waiting to get my brows done, and decided I wanted to have my lip done... Something I never could get the gall to do... There was another lady ahead of me and one just finishing up...
She came out and felt the dire need to share that she not only got her brows and lip, but her underarms, legs and bikini....
I feel like I am such a wuss.. I really would like to try my legs but I am PETRIFIED of the pain..
My question is what do you get waxed, how long does it last, and how many times does it take for the pain to be not-as-much??

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I've only ever gotten eyebrows. I would definitely do legs. Whenever I go on vacation I say I'm going to do it but I never do. I really want to try bikini, but I'm scared! I get ym eyebrowas done every 3 weeksish. To me it hurts about the same every time. it never goes away, but it's not so bad when I can just relax and not anticipate it so much

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
See-- until today, I only got my brows waxed, The *new* joys of an overly hormonal pregnant part puerto rican girl!! LOL..
The lady before me was like, "oh, the pain is much less intense everytime you do it.." Talking about her legs and bikini area.. I was thinking if I ever got a bikini wax and/or my legs done, I would have to be heavily intoxicated.. (obviously after baby!)
For anyone who has had it done, Is it as bad as I think it is??

I am 100% with you on the intoxication. I have pain medications which I barely take and can use "off label" for that purpose. I fully plan to! I'm anxious to hear the answers on this thread too!

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
ive done the eyebrows and bikini regularly, but just tried my legs last week and i was totally shocked at how much the lower legs (shins and calves) hurt. i thought that would be a breeze, but i couldnt wait to and get out of there, it hurt alot.
bikini hurt the first time the most, since then its no big deal. i "tried" it a while back and now find it addicting, it is just so much nicer.
i would skip the legs from here on in unless maybe i was going away or something... other than that its not worth it IMO!
Good Luck!

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I always get my eyebrows...and like once or twice a year my lip...
The eyebrows last for about 2 weeks...
My lip I rarely do...the hair on my lip is blonde... (no one even notices it but me) however since I know its there..ill go..so it usually lasts 6 months-1yr.
The both hurt..but the pain is so quick, its doable..
I would love to get a bikkini or my legs waxed... but I just feel funny!!!
I was thinking of buying one of those self waxing kits...
I heard your legs have to be real hairy to make the results of waxing last awhile...however I can never let me legs go that long!

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I don't trust too many people touching my brows, so I've only done that once. I wax my own upper lip with those homemade kits, much easier. As far as bikini, it hurts like ***** and I find that the hair grows back so quickly for me that it isn't even worth it. I get it done and 2 days later I have stubble. So it goes like this. Hairy, pain, red bumps, stubble, hair, pain, red bumps, hair, etc. etc. It almost isn't even worth it. What women do!

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I have waxed my eyebrows, lip, legs, bikini and underarms. Never a Brazilian. But, will not count that out just yet.
I like waxing my legs, bikini and underarms during the summer. My legs and underarms last about 3 weeks. I don't even bother in the winter. I usually wax when I go on vacation.
As for the pain, make sure you take an aspirin before you go and do not wax near your period. I did and it hurt like H E LL! If you wax near your period, you will most likely not want ever get waxed again.

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
i get my eye brows and lipped waxed every week and a half to 2 weeks. the lip is a bit painful but only for a second so its no big deal
i have had my legs waxed, i probably didnt let it grow out enough because the results werent super smooth, i mean they were good but i would never do it again, shaving gets me much smoother with respect to that. it also hurt soooo bad, especially the back of the legs .
here is the big one..... i get a brazilian every 3 weeks in the summer, every 4 weeks in the winter. i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! sooo much better than shaving, its quicker, smoother, no bumps or anything like that! it lasts a solid 3 weeks and i couldnt imagine not doing it now. the first time it kills, the 2nd is a little better, but now i barely feel it at all...

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I get my eyebrows waxed about 1-2 months - tweezing the rest of the time. Plan to try the threading this week.
Upper lip - about one a year.
And the thing that seems to make me the odd person out - is I get my arms waxed. I was always self conscious that I had such dark hair on my arms. I mentioned it to my hairdresser about 6 months to my wedding - she said "Oh, I get mine waxed off. Breaks down the hair follicles & now I only have to do it sporadially. ' It was a relief when she told me. For some reason, it didn't occur to me that other people did it too.
I started getting a bikini wax (pseudo brazilian) this past year. Ok, well I've done it twice. Loved the results - hated the process.
I had done laser electrolysis on my upper lip & arms- hence the need to only go once a year. I couldn't finish the process because I got pregnant - and she said she would never work on someone who's pregnant since who really knows the side effects & why would even chance it...

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
i have to say i started doing bikini recently, and the pain is not as bad as everyone seems to think it is - i think eyebrows hurt more..i refuse to wax anything on my face...keep in mind, i only do regular bikini, not brazilian..

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I do my eyebrows and lip regularly. I used to do my legs and bikini regularly especially in the summer. Though I don't do the legs & bikini as often anymore (just cause of the money, not the pain).
Bikini hurts less than certain parts of the legs. But all together I would say most waxing is no biggie for me. I did my underarms once and that hurt more than the other stuff. I'm dying to try a full brazilian.

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I've done a full brizillian and there is a short burst of stinging pain, but it goes away. I honestly stay redder after with my brow and lip than I do,,,down there.

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I used to get my eyebrows waxed but I get them threaded now, much more precise. I got my lip waxed only one time. Apparently I'm very sensitive in that area because it ripped the skin right off and I had a scab for 2 weeks . I get my bikini done when I'm going on vacation. Hurts like hell but is sooooo worth it because it lasts so much longer than shaving. I did do the brazilian just one time and it was truthfully the most painful experience I have ever had

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I have tried to get my legs waxed, but they never seem to be able to get all the hair. Thent hey have to tweeze...then I still see little stubble. So I usually just give up & shave or nair

Re: Waxing.. Couple of questions..
I do brazilian bikini waxes every month, and have my eyebrows threaded (but have had them waxed before). Before my wedding I also did my underarms.
Honestly, besides the Brazilian, its not that bad. Eyebrows are nothing and a regular bikini wax is not too bad. I never did legs. The most painful part for me is the Brazilian- they parts that never see daylight- they are very sensitive. But I do it every month for about 10 years... so ... I guess you get used to the pain. A good waxer will put their hand on it right away to soothe the pain.
