Re: Blanket in crib
when she was a newborn and slept in the bassinet, we tucked a blanket around her. she didn't more so it was not an issue.
now that she is almost 5 months old and in the crib, no blanket. if it's cold at night, she'll sleep in a sleep sack.

Re: Blanket in crib
My ped. told us no sleepsacks, no swaddling, and no blankets. She said fleece footie pjs (I use a long sleeve onsie on under it).

Re: Blanket in crib
I use sleep sacks because DS is ALL over the crib. He does use a blanket at daycare though. But the teachers are right there checking on him all the time.

Re: Blanket in crib
We use the Halo sleepsack that has the opening for the feet. My DD wears special shoes at night so feety pj's are out of the question and she flips everywhere--a regular blanket would never stay on her.

Re: Blanket in crib
Sleepsacks until 18 months or so. We have two May babies, so the first winter was just sleepsacks. Spring, summer and most of fall they didn't need much. It was only part way into their 2nd winter when we started giving them a blanket.
Too much risk of them getting tangled up in the blanket, IMO....

We have two. The one he cuddles with and the one that covers him so he doesn't get cold.
We've probably been like that since it got cooler, and he was about 6 months old then.
We do the same for our DS.

Re: Blanket in crib
I started once he turned one. I was big into the sleepsacks, but they were driving him crazy.
He sleeps with a crocheted blanket, huge holes.

I've always used a blanket. My DD can't sleep without it, she's like Linus.
same with my boys. I just use a receiving blanket.

Re: Blanket in crib
I have always used a blanket. Kara is all over the crib but I just feel like she is cold without it. She likes to hug it while she is sleeping.
