bleeding at 13 weeks. scared. small update

hi guys. i just felt some wetness so i went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood in the toilet. i kept wiping and wiping and it gradually got lighter and now about a half hour later it is still there but lighter in flow and more pink. i just had my 12 week sono on friday and all looked good. i had major bleeding (a big red gush) around week 6 of my pregnancy but it only lasted a short while until tonight. i have no cramping. anyone have any experience with this? with my first pregnancy i had no bleeding at all so i am a bit freaked out. i know some bleeding is considered normal, especially if there is no cramping involved. guess i just need some reassurance. thanks.

now it is the morning and the blood is still light in flow and brown. does this sound good or bad? do you think i should call the doctor or see how today goes??? thanks so much for all the responses.

Some bleeding/spotting is definitely normal. I had a similar thing happen around 11-12 weeks, the bleeding started around 4 or 5 abd lasted into the night but got lighter. I called my doctor and they said to put my feet up, drink more water, relax and to call them the following morning to follow up. Everything was fine and I am now 34 weeks.

I would still give a call to your doctor in the morning, they may want to see you just to listen for a HB.

Crashing...

I didnt have have any bleeding during my first pregnancy so when it happened during my second it scaredthe shit out of me. I was about 16 weeks. It was just a little at first but then all of a sudden I had a big gush. I panicked and called my dr. who said to drink a lot and spend the rest of the night on the couch. Next day I went in for a sono and everything was fine. The bleeding had slowed down but ended up taking a full week to completely stop.

Just try to relax yourself and take it easy. Im sure you'll be fine

Had the exact thing as you happen to me at 14 weeks. It was a pocket of blood they said that was in the uterus...it burst I guess and caused the bleeding. It stopped after some time but I went to the ER because I was freaked out. Baby boy was perfectly fine. I had NO cramping, just a gush of blood. I would wait it out if theres no cramping and just follow what the doctors says. I know it's worrisome but its actually pretty common (many of my friends had this happen too , all at different stages!)

When it comes to bleeding in pregnancy, I'm *sadly* as experienced as they come!

Basically, anything severe is where you worry. SEVERE bleeding and/or SEVERE cramps. There are many causes of bleeding in pregnancy, many that are harmless, especially at your stage where you're not still early in the first tri.

I would definitely call your dr tomorrow to follow up and see if they want you to come in, but rest assured if it seems to be getting lighter and you're not cramping along with it, that's a good sign! Whenever I had bleeding, I was always told to not have sex until a week after it stopped and to try and stay off my feet as much as I can.

Brown blood= old blood so I would think that is good but would still call the dr

I would call the Dr regardless. I wouldnt be comfortable or be able to breathe again until i had a sono. Good luck!
