Blood in Stool
Q: I just changed DD's diaper & found a tiny bit of blood in her stool. Should I be concerned? What could this be a sign of? Should I call Ped? She's 11 wks old. I'm EBF

Re: Blood in Stool
I would only be considered if there was a lot & it happened repeatedly.
Has she been constipated? It could be from straining.

Re: Blood in Stool
I would call the ped. DS had blood in stool, it wound up being a milk protein allergy.

same. their intestines can't handle the breakdown yet of the proteins...as the intestines mature, usually allergy goes away. Did you have an ice cream binge last night? hopefully it turns out just to be a hard poop

Same for us. We had to bring that diaper (and others) for testing to see if there was microscopic blood also.
Good luck, it's scary to see when you open that diaper.

Same here. I had to cut dairy out of my diet and noticed a major difference in DDs pooping/sleeping/and fussiness within 4 days!! She was about 2 and 1/2 months old

Re: Blood in Stool
Thanks ladies...after that diaper there hasn't been anymore blood. Maybe it was just a little constipation.
No my nipples have not been bleeding & yes I'm exclusively pumping (no formula).
Thank you for your words of wisdom.

Re: Blood in Stool
I would still call the ped - they'll have you bring it in to test. Jack only had it once or twice and had a milk allergy.
You may need to cut out your dairy if that is what it turns out to be.
Good luck sweetie
