Re: Blue for Girl's Room?
I had a blue nursery for my daughter and everyone who saw it raved about it - if done right it looks just adorable! We moved but I kept this color theme for my daughter's new room, just blue on the bottom, chair rail and green above the chair rail. Image Attachment(s):

I absolutely LOVE IT! Blue is such a soothing, calming color and I think it woud look GOREGOUS with the bedding set you picked out!

Re: Blue for Girl's Room?
We painted our nursery a light, pale blue, and we did not know the sex of our first child. It was decorated in yellow and blue plaids. We ended up having a boy, and people keep insisting that we knew it was a boy (and we did not know), because we painted it blue and they didn't think blue was for a girl
Well.... our second was a girl and she now has the nursery. And I kept it blue and bought bedding with some greens in it, so she now has a blue room with pale green accents.
ETA: I totally went on Beth's (Bxgell) idea's for my DD when I saw her DD's room. It's very similar now!!

Bxgell2 I LOVE YOUR Nursery. The walls look great, did you paint the design yourself.
With those accents I definitely can see that fitting for a girl!
GREAT JOB!

Re: Blue for Girl's Room?
I love that color blue...nothing wrong at all...blue for a girl.
We actually did DD's ceiling in a blue color & we didn't tell our family if we were having boy/girl or names & my dad swore it was going to be a boy b/c of the ceiling color. Silly Daddy.
I say go for it.

Thanks! I get so teary-eyed when I see those pictures because I was sooooooo sentimentally attached to that room. Unfortunately, we sold that house so it's no longer ours.
But, yes, we did the whole thing ourselves. I painted the blue, DH put up the wainscoting, and my good friend and I stenciled in the little creatures and painted them in while I was still pregnant.
LOVED that room!
