Re: Body for Life
When I did BFL the first time I did a workout every free day and gave myself off on Fridays. I know that's not what he suggests. But I liked working out on the day that I ate whatever I wanted. It helped me a lot.

Re: Body for Life
mmm just learned of a nice lunch item
Whole wheat tortilla, two tbs pizza sauce, one tbs low fat mozarella cheese...put in oven for 7 mintes (just enough to heat it up and melt the cheese) Not bad I tell you.

Re: Body for Life
Do you think nuts and fruit are a good snack? I have a hard time finding proteins that aren't meat. I don't really care for cottage cheese, unfortunately.

Re: Body for Life
or some tuna and wasa crackers.
Nuts are ok if you have them like once a week but don't make it your everyday snack.
I had wanted to start everything back up again this week but we were away this weekend and didn't get to go food shopping. So I didn't get to eat that great today. But I'm going food shopping tomorrow during lunch. I need to get my water in.
I did a brief arm workout tonight. I need to ease myself back into the workouts. I don't need to pull anything and be out for weeks.
How did everyone else do today?

Re: Body for Life
What do you guys eat for breakfast each day? I really don't care too much for eggs and I can't do cottage cheese. So I'm having a hard time getting protein in. I'm going to pick up some protein powder to put in my oatmeal but I don't want to do that everyday.
Any suggestions?

Re: Body for Life
Jenn- The only think I eat every morning is a cup of yogurt. Then two hours later I eat a body for life bar (ok its actually a zone bar because I think they taste better and the nutritional value is about the same) That usually gets me through the morning.

Re: Body for Life
Don't get too down on yourself. Just pick back up and get going again. You can do it and you know it's so worth doing. Come on girl!

Re: Body for Life
i found these sugar free, wheat free, gluten free cookies at the green market- sweetened with apple sauce....
not something for every day- but not THAT bad (although they sort of have the feel of a hocky puck)
thanks for the encouragement.

Re: Body for Life
I did BFL for over a year. It really, really works, but then I got bored. I have a Bowflex, and an elliptical trainer.
I read "Eat, Drink and Be Merry" and that was it! It says that's it's not actually all that bad to be a little overweight, as long as you're fit for yourself.
I then switched to superslow training, with is one kick-*** workout a week, for a 1/2 hour. That works as well, but then I got bored and fell off of that wagon (after wedding). So now I'm gonna do Core Secrets, which just sounds like fun.

Re: Body for Life
Nadine, that all makes sense! Thanks for posting it. FOR NOW, I htink I will stick with this, only because its my first time dieting ever and this diet and I are getting along. UNtil it gets boring or whatever...then I am prepared to re-evaluate.

Re: Body for Life
I am doing fairly ok! I slacked a bit on the working out part (I still go, just not as much). Last week I didn't go at all and I still lost a pound...pretty excited about that. I won't be able to go to the gym at all this month so I am going to rely on sticking to the meal plans so as to not gain. Overall, I am pretty happy with this diet...lost 10 pounds to date!

Re: Body for Life
I'm back on the eating part of BFL this week. I had been totally out of control - it was really awful - but after just three days I really do feel better already. Just got to get my butt to the gym this weekend...that first time going is always the hardest!!!!
