Body piercings and age?

I think about "growing up" and wonder if people think it's acceptable for women to keep body/ear piercings in past a certain age.

I am 28 and have a tongue ring (I only wear it on the weekends SOMETIMES, other than that it's never in at work), a belly ring and 15 holes in my ears. I have the tragus piercing on my right ear as 1 of the 15 (the little piece of cartilage that is on the base of your face). My dad always asks me when I am going to finally take them out.
I don't have any plans to take them out any time soon...I mean, my belly ring is hidden, the ears are no biggy...I only wear them all or most of them from time to time and like I said, the tongue ring is hardly ever in.


My question is, if you have body piercings/ear piercings....how old are you, how many do you have and when do you plan on taking them out IF you plan on taking them out at all???

I have a bunch in my ears and my belly button pierced and i'm not planning on ever taking them out unless one day I want to. I love them all.

I took my tongue piercing out on my 30th birthday (mostly because it cause gum problems for me) but I've kept the others in. I am 35.

I had my belly button pierced and when I was pregnant I took it out. Never put it back in again.

I think it totally depends on YOU and how confortable you are. I don't have anything but ears BECAUSE I got a keyloid when I did the top of my ear and was told I would get them wherever I pierce but hey if your belly looks good at 50 and you wanna rock a bellyring why the heck not!

I have 3 piercings in one ear (two on the bottom, one on the top cartilege) and 2 in the other ear on the bottom.

I only wear one earring in each ear now - the other holes get irritated and sometimes hurt when I put earrings in them, so I just don't bother anymore.

I also have a nose piercing and I wear a tiny diamond stud in it - some people don't notice it when they first meet me, it's that small.

I will keep wearing it until I decide I don't like it anymore. My job is ok with it, I'm sure it helps that I prefer to wear something small there. I just turned 30 a few months ago.

I've never been one for piercings, but DH was. He had his tongue piecred at 21 and his nose at 25. He took his tongue out when he got a new job, I think it was around 26. He got married at 28 with the nose ring in, but took it out a year or so later when he moved on to a new job.

i am 29 and there are days i still think about getting my nose pierced!

i have a belly button ring, i wore it through all 9 months of my pregnancy, took it out for delivery, and put it right back in the next day. i don't plan on ever taking it out.

as far as ears, i used to have three holes in each ear but now i only have 1 in each.

I took them out when I got pregnant because all my piercings got funky for some reason. My tongue started to react very badly so I ended up taking it out. I wish I never got my belly button pierced because I have a nasty scar from my pregnant belly stretching the hole out.

I had to take my cartilage one out a few years ago. It would continue to get infected and was just aggravating so I removed it.

I still have my belly button ring in. I don't plan on taking it out ever. Even during pregnancy I'll wear the specially made ones for that

I'm almost 35 and I have no intention of taking out my belly button ring. I'm even thinking about getting a tattoo.

I think it's a matter of personal preference.

I've lost interest in most of my ear piercings, just because I can't be bothered to put earrings in half the time! But I only have three in each ear (three in one right lobe, two in left with one in cartilage)

My nan, who is 78, got her top cartilage done about 15 years ago and still wears it now!

This is a timely question for me - I've been debating whether or not to take out my extra ear piercings, mostly because it's becoming a pain when I lose one out of a set of multiple earrings, things like that, but also because I'm getting older, and I'm not sure how cute it is anymore. Hmm.

But to answer the question, I have 7 ear piercings and my navel pierced, and I'm 28. The navel ring I plan to keep in longer, because no one has to see it unless I want them to.

I'm 24 and I won't be taking any of mine out any time soon. I recently pierced my lip on both sides and had my labret done all at once.

I remove my tongue ring when I was 23 because it was causing all kinds of gum issues (but that's because I constantly played with it)

All other piercings will remain until the day I feel like taking them out but it wont be because of age or anyone else's opinions.

Im 44 the mother of 3, PTA President and if I had piercings I don't think I would take them out. Hell, I just got a tattoo last year and I am going to get another. Enjoy them if it makes you feel good.

I have my belly button pierced since I was 16. I will probably take it out when I get pregnant..

I had my tongue, belly, and nip pierced..all of them i had at age 20-21..I took them all out as i got older...the tongue ring was out at age 22 (after college, the professional business world i was trying to enter it would not have gotten me a job). also Kept getting commments from family that i looked like a stripper or porn star.

I took my belly ring out with my 1st pg at about 5 months pg.. and never went back.

I'm very happy now with just my 2 normal ear piercings at age 32 now

I used to have 7 or 8 ear piercings and I had my eyebrow pierced. I took my eyebrow ring out when I was 19 because I played sports in college and could not keep it in during the season. I stopped wearing most of my earings probably around the end of college and now I just wear one earing in each year. I work in a very conservative environment and definitely could not have any visible piercings, except for the ears, even if I wanted to keep them in.

I have my tongue pierced (honestly don't even realize its there anymore), my tragus, and 7 holes in one ear, 1 in the other.
I used to have my nose pierced in college, but took that out when i graduated because i felt like a hoop thru my nose would be distracting to employers (this was 15 years ago mind you).
I used to have one nip pierced but took it out after about 2 years because it used to get caught on my puff in the shower and was more of a PITA than anything

I don't plan on taking anything out anytime soon, although i have contemplated taking my tongue bar out just because i sometimes wonder why i still have it
However.. i'm a firm believer in you do what you want to do and screw what anyone else thinks.
If you're comfortable with what you have, thats all that matters.

Now, if you work in a profession where something like that might hold you back, then you make an informed decision based on those circumstances.

sadly the only thing left is my ears that are pierced all the rest had to come out because of a job. If I ever find a place that will accept body piercings again I will deff. open them up again.

I had tongue (never will open that one up again never liked it on me), septum (that i wouldn't open again because that looks silly at 30 for me) , side of my nose which I do want back, three eyebrow rings (which I want back), no nip rings anymore nor do I want them, bellybutton I am WAY too fat to ever have had that or had it.

I took them out whe I got bored of them. I pierced my boob, because DH (then BF) said I didnt have the balls to do it. I wne the next morning. Took it out 6 months later. I was done with it. I pierced my tongue when NO ONE else had it done. I took it out when the whole world was piercing it bothered me. Its up to you.
