Boiling water for formula
I assume that most everyone uses a pot to boil their water for making formula. My pot is made in China and with all the news lately about products made in China containing lead I'm not sure I could use it with peace of mind. I was thinking about buying a pot made in the USA such as an All Clad. I also dont want to use anything to boil water that contains plastic either because of BPA concerns. I hope I'm not being paranoid, but I'm concerned about the water I will be using for formula to feed my baby. What does everyone suggest? Thanks!

Re: Boiling water for formula
The nursery water isnt sterile. At least, that's what the label on the bottle said. I would have to still boil the water since my daughter is only 6 weeks old.

Re: Boiling water for formula
I never boiled water. As soon as it cools it's not sterile anymore anyway. Just use a filtered tap, or if you really want sterile water, you can buy that too in the stores.
And if she's 6 weeks, you can use regular water, no need to spend money on nursery water or spend time boiling water.

Re: Boiling water for formula
My ped told me that I dont have to boil, just use filtered or bottled water.
I fill a glass pitcher with the filter from the fridge so it is room temperature for the bottles.

Re: Boiling water for formula
I use to boil filtered water in a stainless steel All Clad pot. Never boil in any coated pots, such as nonstick.
Nursery water has fluoride, which I dont feel they should have if it could be avoided.

Re: Boiling water for formula
I fill a jug using the water on the door of my freezer (filtered) and let it get to room temp.

Re: Boiling water for formula
I've never heard of anyone boiling water for formula. We always used nursery water.
