Book recs - beginner chapter series

My dd is entering kindergarten. She recently cracked the reading code and made quick progress out of the step into reading books and picture books. What are some appropriate beginner chapter series books for her? I’m completely clueless! She loves anything girlie. Thank you!

Princess in Black. It’s a great intro to chapter books for Kindergarten girls. Great illustrations and cute story.

Also keep with picture books and reading step books. The Fancy Nancy series is quite challenging (even though it has a low “number”).

Also like Magic treehouse series and Junie B Jones (funny)... but they are harder.

Thank you! Yes to clarify we will keep up with step into reading books and picture books as well (we love picture books!). So important for comprehension and reading enjoyment and fluency building. In terms of recs, I was looking more for other types of books!

My DD loved the critter club when she started with chapter books. They have pictures on most pages and were the perfect length.

Baby Monkey, Private Eye is not a series but it's an incredibly cute book and great for emergent readers. Don't be intimidated by the size, it has beautiful illustrations that go along with it.

We've been struggling with this too. Dd is going into first and is a great reader and has excellent comprehension with picture books. She really wants to read chapter books but she's intimidated by the idea of reading them herself and struggles with comprehension when we read them aloud to her. The best ones we've found so far are the American Girl Weillie Wisher books and Junie B Jones (she loves them, I can't stand the language). She has a few Princess in Black too but I think they're kind of boring tbh. The Mercy Watson ones are cute. I plan to look up some that I remember from childhood like James and the Giant Peach and Charlotte's Web to see the reading levels and maybe try some of those.

Re: Book recs - beginner chapter series

So far the ones she’s enjoyed (we’ve just read a book in each series) has been rainbow magic (magical crafts fairies) but I think it may be a little too old for her, fairy animals of misty wood (which is adorable), and Heidi Heckelbeck. She also loves the Wellie Wishers ones. We were looking at a mermaid series one but I think that’s for further down the road.
