Booking our trip to Newport, RI today
I've already done a bit of research on Newport, I'm just so excited, I wanted to share!
We are going in June for our 2 year anniversary. We looked at all the B&B's that everyone here suggested and then cross referenced them to Travelocity's reviews, price, availability, and where they're located.
We settled on the Hilltop Inn's Touro room. I wasn't thinking of spending this much for a room but when we saw the bathroom, Rusty wanted it bad.
They have off-street parking, fireplaces, central air, refrigerators in room, flatpanel plasma tv's, our room has a whirlpool tub with seperate shower, 2 closets, writing desk, vanity, Bose CD player and views of the patio & garden.
We didn't want to stay closer to the water because we had read about noise being a factor at some places. The Tripadvisor reviews were all glowing, and we really feel good about this decision.
We haven't taken a vacation since our honeymoon, I'm so excited!!

Re: Booking our trip to Newport, RI today
DH and I are planning on going to Newport in August for our 5th anniversary and I was just researching places tonight and came across Hilltop. It looks SO nice! I even called the place about availability, and what stinks is that they require a 3-night minimum on weekends and we only want 2.
Anyway, enough about me -- have a GREAT time!! I look forward to a review when you return!!!
ETA: I think I got my inns confused and the one you're staying at doesn't require a 3-night stay. Too much research can really confuse the brain! Hilltop has no availability the week we plan on going! :(
