Biscuit series
David shannon books (no, david)
Eric carle
I love robert munsch books (very funny but should be read to DC)
Froggy
Kissing hand

Some are good for DC to try to read (look for books with repetative text) others it will be good to read to DC. Look for books that you can read and talk about (characters, fav parts etc)

DD is almost 5. Her favorites right now are Pinkilicious and The Tickle Monster.

She loves Fancy Nancy and books about fairies and stuff like that.

I LOVE Kevin Henkes. We have Sheila Rae, The Brave; Chester's Way; Jessica and Chrysanthemum. All great.

We also have My First Little House Books which are shortened, kid-friendly versions of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books. I prayed for girls JUST so we could read Litte House! (and Nancy Drew, but that's on the horizon...)

We also have a bunch of books from the Scholastic series "If You..." For example, If You Lived in Colonial Times, If you Traveled West in a Covered Wagon, If you Lived With the Iroquois, etc. etc. You may not think they're written for 5 year olds...maybe more like 7 or 8, but my DD loves them!

DD is a little over 4 and really into the Pinkaliciious books. But I really don;t like Purplelicious. SIlverlicious is new and we love it!

Fancy Nancy are good too. She also loves Curious George.
