boots that fit calves
It is so hard for me to find tall boots that fit snugly on my calves. Does anyone else have this problem. Is it a fashion faux pas if there is ~ a 1/2 inch gap?

Yes all the time! And I don't think my calves are very skinny.
I have these from Target, they are great - snug but not tight

Michalel Kors boots have notoriously narrow calves.
Try those.

i have skinny legs and BIG HONKIN' feet so this happens to me A LOT.
i go to DSW so that I can try a ton of boots at once and go with whatever is the snuggest in the leg… it's not easy! but i do score from time to time.
i have noticed, brand-wise, that Clarks, Guess, Stuart Weitzman, and sometimes Calvin Klein are usually on the tighter side. Also, Michael Kors -- his boots, NICE AND SNUG!!!! I was like amen!!!

YES! I just posted this - I recently fell in love with a few of his boots and I was like wow, finally SNUG and fits just right!!!
I should also add that Ivanka Trump's line of shoes are very nice -- and her boots do fit snug. I have a pair of her over the knee boots and they are snug all the way up which is SO nice.

I have the same issue. I look for a 14-14.5" inch circumference. Check out Miz Mooz boots as they tend to run narrow.
I am 5'2" and many of the new boot styles are too tall for my petite legs (~ 14" is ideal height for me). I bought 3 pairs of boots recently and they are perfect for my narrow calves and come a few inches below my knee (which i prefer).
Target - Keira . Surprisingly very nice despite the low price and material.

ETA: I normally never wear flat shoes or boots but bought theseMadden Girl boots. Although the circumference reads 15" they actually fit my "narrow" calves. From what I read, the calf circumference widens as the shoe size increases. I wear a 6.5 or 7 but they run really big so I bought in size 6.

I read this post wrong and ordered these. Now I hope my fat calves fit in their wide calf boots.

I read this post wrong and ordered these. Now I hope my fat calves fit in their wide calf boots.
The calf circumference reads approx 15". I have found that is the average for most knee high boots. Wide calf is usually 16"+ and narrow is around 14".
