For those who have a hard time getting boots to fit over their calves.
I have always had a hard time finding boots to fit over my calves so I was happy that zappos.com shows the calf circumference. I bought two pairs of boots that were the same size as my calf thinking that they would fit right but when I got them they were really difficult to zip up. I was able to zip them up but it was like wearing a girdle on my legs. I read online about people rubbing the inside of their leather boots with alcohol which is supposed to loosed up the leather and then you wear them until they dry and this is supposed to stretch them. I was really worried about damaging the leather plus there is a liner inside my boots so I wasn't even sure if it would work but I figured I would give it a try since it was the inside of the boot and not the outside. I cant believe it but when I put them on right after putting the alcohol inside them they zipped RIGHT UP! No struggling, no pulling, no tugging! I don't see any damage at all to the leather but I'm not sure if it's because of the liner. I just wanted to share in case this might help those who have struggled like me with tall boots. Just be careful if you try this and maybe test a small area on the inner part of the boot to make sure that it won't damage yours.

interesting...wonder if it would work? What did you use? Rubbing alcohol like from the drug store?

Yes, I put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and rubbed it on the inside of the boot where I wanted to stretch it.

I heard about this for kid's shoes, but never tried it.
You can also bring them to the shoe shiner/shoe repair. They can stretch them as much or as little as you like. I always do this! I bring them in the morning then pick them up the next day.
