bordetella shot.. it didnt work for my dog
we had to have our dog get the shot again like a month ago.
we just had to kennel her last week and she STILL got kennel cough from the other dogs.. they gave us the medicine for free. .but my poor dog is coughing and doesnt feel good 
i guess its not 100% effective.. i hate bordering her but we have no choice when we take a vacation once a year. if that!
now i feel like its our faults

I feel for you. We had given our dogs the shot and 2 of our dogs got kennel cough at the groomer. Thank God, the medicine got them all better and we never went bacj to that groomer. Hope your dog gets well soon

Where we board Bella, they require her to have the bordetella shot every 6 months. And that goes for doggie day care too.

yea thats the thing.. all animals are required to have one.. which is why i dont understand why other dogs had it and why my dog did get it.. we are so upset that this happened

it's like the flu shot, it doesn't guarantee they won't get it, because there are different strands...
this might sound random, but when Gus had kennel cough, in addition to the antibiotics, my vet told me he could have robitussin...it made the coughing stop....it was a little difficult getting him to take it though
