I'm a righty but when I use a fork and knife, I place the knife in my left hand, not my right. I didn't even know that was "incorrect" until DH told me a couple of years back.
I disagree with your DH. I think you do it the right way and EVERYONE ELSE does that incorrectly.
I'm a lefty, so it comes naturally to do it that way but my grandma was a righty and she also did it that way.

I like having the sharp blade used to slice meat in the hand that has the most control, especially when that meat-cutting blade is close to my fingers....

I am right handed but I write like a left handed person with my right hand. Basically my arm goes up and over the paper I'm writing on if you can picture it. I have no idea where I got that from, nobody else in my family does that and nobody in my family is left handed. People point it out to me alllll the time

I'm like that, too, but only peanut butter. I rarely even put jelly on my sandwiches. This grosses DH out to no end.
I also don't eat the bread crust- the dogs always know they are going to get the crust off my bread.

True but most lefties I know switch the knife out of their left hand and put their fork in their left to eat. I'm left and if I need to use a knife I fork with my right otherwise I fork with my left if no knife is needed.

Interesting! My friend one day yelled at me in a restaurant "You're a lefty?!" (because she is and I guess she was surprised!). It shocked me! lol! But no, I'm a righty, but I have to use the knife in my right hand and the fork in my left. I can't imagine switching back and forth, that sounds like a lot of work.

Before I eat cereal I have to put milk in the bowl first with ice cubes for a while to get it freezing cold. Then I add the cereal.

This has me so confused that now I have no idea what hand I usually hold my knife in!! I am a righty and I "think" I hold it in my right hand and switch to eat.. But, honestly.. thinking about it so hard has me confused about what I actually do!

when i was in college they offered an etiquette class, and we learned that switching hands that hold the fork is more american, whereas the other way (where the fork remains in your right hand the whole time) is more continental europe. so neither is right or wrong. its just whatever works
but now that i think of it, next time in europe im going to observe how people are holding their forks/knives.
as for me, i do it both ways...and if i cut with my right hand, i have no problem feeding myself with my left. lol

Apparently I cut my food the wrong way. DH told me if Im a righty I should hold the meat in place w. the fork in the left hand and cut with my right, then put the knife down, switch the fork to my right and eat like that but for some reason I cannot hold a knife and control it when its in my right hand, plus his way sounds really long

Me too. Everyone is always asking me why I hold my knife incorrectly. I've always used my left hand to cut, even though I'm a righty.

How I eat my oreos.
(In a bowl with milk and a spoon)
I do this too except with a tall glass, not a bowl! Love when they're all mushy and I spoon them out

Im a righty and I hold the fork with my left hand and cut the meat with the right hand and then just put the food in my mouth with the left hand. OR I cut all the meat before I eat and then use the fork with my right hand.

I do this, too! My son thinks it's weird, lol!
When I have steak (or any other meat that has a bone) I eat only the outside part of the meat never the center (I will bring that home to the dog!).

Haha, I'm going to show him this exact post!!
Although, I think the reason I do this is because my dad is a lefty so I copied his eating habits.

I have to put potato chips/doritos in my bagel especially if it is with plain cream cheese...I love the crunch in my bagel!
And don't get me started on mailing a check out. I have to check the actual check a million times before I send it out. Make sure the date is correct. the amount is correct, the correct number of zeros, spelled out correct and did I sign it?
I am neurotic when it comes to writing out checks.

My peanut butter and jelly must be evenly spread from corner to corner of the bead. No difference in thickness anywhere on the bread or I must keep spreading. This is me! I even look from the side to ensure it.
As for the rest, I have so many quirky things I do. For instance when I get up in the morning the very first thing I do is wash my hands. I literally shred cold cuts before putting them on a sandwich, I have to sleep in a made bed. HAVE TO. EVen if that means making the bed right before I lay in it. There are so many more but I won't put people through that
