Bottle feeding your newborn breast milk Q's
How many ounces? How often? How old is your child?
Thanks!

It's going to be trial and error. Start with 2 oz and see how you DC responds. If it appears they are still hungry add 1/2 oz. You will have to look out for cues and also see how DC is gaining weight and check ups.

At 1 month DD was drinking 2-3 ounces. I would try 2 and see if DC is still hungry.. add another ounce or so... every baby is different.

Re: Bottle feeding your newborn breast milk Q's
Thanks!!!
I'm giving my daughter about 2.5oz when she gets a bottle - I'm starting to get frustrated/paranoid about her intake from the breast and figure she needs to get used to the bottle anyway for when I return to work ... and DH wants to help with feedings now.
She still seems to want to feed every 2-3 hours and since she was early, small and lost weight (a little more than normal) when we left the hospital and didn't gain anything back for almost a week, I feel like I should let her eat whenever she wants. She'll be 3 weeks on Wednesday.

I'm glad to read this b/c my son is 5 1/2 weeks and is eating 6-7 oz per feeding.. His weight is good and gained 2 lbs the first month which the Dr said was good..
I thought he was eating too much...

Re: Bottle feeding your newborn breast milk Q's
At first, 2oz-- but that lasted a day or two, then we worked up to 3oz and stayed there for a little while.
If they drain the bottle, try a half ounce more, etc.
