Re: bowling league for 3 yr old? too young?
We've been going to play since they were that young, but neither one was into it enough to join a league at that age. For my DS, there was a big difference in ability from 3yo to 4yo and he'd probably be more into it now.
DS hated that ramp thing and until he was able to roll the ball down the lane at a decent clip it was kind of a nightmare - him crying that he didn't want the ramp, then crying that the pins didn't fall down.

Re: bowling league for 3 yr old? too young?
DD (3 last October) did Kids Bowl Free over the summer. We used the ramps and bumper guards when we went.
Personally though - I don't think I would spend the money for it. She really got a kick out of it, but if it was something she did weekly, I think at that age it would get old fast. At this age their moods are too "hit or miss" to spend money on it.

Did a league over the summer right before DD was about to turn 3 and she loved it, however it was at Coram lanes which has a separate section with mini-lanes/balls for smaller kids.

Same here. DS turned 3 as the league ended. He loved doing the mini-bowling, but also played regular bowling after the league every day. In fact, he got his own 8 pound bowling ball, shoes and a bowling bag for his third birthday.

I received the same email (from AMF wantagh lanes). My dd is already in a league with her pre-school at Wantagh lanes. It is really cute and both dd and I love it. She loves bowling and is actually really good. They automatically have the bumpers up but they don't use any ramps. But after the first two times of using the ramps at another bowling alley (300 in melville) my dd didn't even want them anymore. I would join that superhero league if I had a ds. it's really fun and something you can do on weekends with the whole family.

I received the email, too, and my ds is interested but he is almost five. We started taking him bowling at three, but I'm not sure he would have had the interest to do it every week at that age.
