karan  i feel your pain.
i was always prone to cold sores....
and one day when i had one i was genius enough to change my "special" piercing wihtout washing my hands first.
needless to say i transferred it from my mouth to the other spot.....
Jes, I thought the genital and oral herpes were two different viral strains? And that the oral one could not infect the genitals?

I dont think the herpes thing is true,,,,but the csection I just saw this all over the tv that it is the new hollywood trend

I've noticed that too - a lot of "celebs" are opting for C-Sections rather than the good 'ole natural way....I'm curious to know why.

Actually, it is not even celebs alone but more so alot of women these days are opting for C-section. I have already decided that this is what I would like whenever I do get preggo not because I have herpes but rather my personal choice.

I always thought it was b/c they got mini tummy tucks at the same time- I read that in one of the many gossip magazines I read
I kind of wanted to do the same thing- but then I read that now there is a back lash about c-sections ( they are more costly for insurance companies)

no, it can be passed. youre right though that one is called Herpes I and one is Herpes II but they can be passed and in turn become the other kind.
my friend also got it from her boyfriend going down town on her while he had a cold sore.

I didn't mean for my post to offend anyone...although it seems that Kara and Jess can handle their own!!
I am *personally* terrified of herpes and have posted about it in the past...it's a completely ilogical fear!  So of course, I heard the story this morning and did not feel good about it.  It made me itchy!
I'm sorry to those that have been victims of irresponsible partners...that's not cool!!
But Hollywood, in general, does seem like a huge orgy and a lot of partner swapping goes on so stories like these do NOT surprise me. And actually, I wonder how many men have Hep C from Pam? Or women from the men she slept with? It's not that it's "cool" it's that it seems it's "forgiven" or "overlooked" if you're of a certain "hot factor" and that IS gross!!
But I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings...and for that...I am sorry!!

Just so you know, while Hep C can be passed sexually, it really is uncommon. A minority of people have been infected through bodily fluids - it can be passed on by sharing a toothbrush, scissor or razor.

That is misinformation.... I know this because I worked for a gynocologist... you can indeed get genital herpes from oral herpes... in fact many people do... especially young people who don't realize that this can happen and they think that "oral" sex is safe... when indeed its not.
