Braxton Hicks or Contractions? UPDATED
How do you tell the difference between Braxton Hicks and real contractions? How frequent is normal?
I started feeling a tightness in my belly about 2 hours ago while driving home from work. I didn't think anything of it because I figured it was the baby pushing on my stomach. The feeling has continued since then and sort of feels like PMS cramps. Now my lower back is hurting, too. Does that sound like Braxton Hicks? When should I become concerned about this?
UPDATE: So I decided to err on the side of caution and called my doctor. They had me come in and put me on the monitor. The baby was moving around like crazy and I was having what looked like contractions on the monitor. They then did an internal and no dilation or anything like that. As relieved as I am that the baby is okay, I was secretly hoping something was happening. Oh well! I guess he doesn't want to come out until next week after all.

I have been having these since last night! but I had my doctor's appointment this afternoon and nothing is really going on... I would say pay attention and time them, if they are regular and start coming closer together then they may be real...

I have been having these they are BH Contractions. But you are getting closer so I would monitor it.

Glad baby is OK.
Yeah, I had these too. Yours sounded different though, as you said they traveled to your lower back. That didn't happen w/me & the BH.
I've been having cramps like menstral cramps all day for the past 3 days. I'm not due until July 10- but I am 1cm dialated. Have you been having any discharge as well?

DH keeps telling him the same thing. "Daddy needs to finish this project at work this week so please stick to your scheduled arrival time". Like he's coming in on a flight!
