Breaking apartment complex lease

Does anyone know how this works? Are you still liable for all the months of the lease after you are gone or do you just lose your security? Due to medical issues, someone in my family has to leave their apartment and the lease is not up until next March.

I would assume so. It has never happened to me but if you break a lease you are responsible for any remaining months. I dont know if there is a way she can get out of it because shes sick but I dont see how. Im sorry

They need to read their lease.. All leases are different.

Not sure how it works with a medical excuse.
When we broke ours, we had to pay the remainder of the lease. Unless we had orders to leave for military. Didnt matter that dh gotns job offer OOS, we tried everyrhing and had to pay. We did get our security back minus a few deductions for paint and basic fixes. I would call the property manager and speak with them.
