Breast fed baby and formula
Dd is almost 4 months old and eats a lot! She solely nurses when we are together but gets a bottle when I'm at work. I pump at work and in the am and during weekends. I have a few bags of frozen But I think she drinks more than what I'm pumping. I was wondering if her first bottle should be formula while the rest of the day be milk.
If anyone nursed/pumped AND gave formula, can you tell me what kind, when, and how Mitch? Thanks. With ds, it wasn't an issue because we didn't go as long apart as dd and I do. My schedule is different. I want to nurse as long as I can and I think it's fairly established but stressing about how much milk I have is not something I feel like I need.

Breast fed baby and formula
When I started supplementing I would just make a bottle of bm and formula. Started out mostly bm but as my supply went down it became more formula until it was all formula.
Start with any and see how they tolerate it before jumping around.

We happened to give both BM and formula from day one with both kids. We use up and up's version of enfamil premium. DD1 was getting pumped BM so if she was drinking 4oz of bm, we gave 4oz of formula. I never combined in one bottle because if she didn't finish, I would have had to toss it bc of the formula. BM only could be saved for later.

You may also want to look into paced feeding. The baby may be over eating bc the bottle is quicker. Just you tube paced bottle feeding and show it to whomever feeds your child to make sure they feed correctly

I agree with this, usually babies that are bottle fed eat more than if they were eating from the boob because of the faster flow.

Re: Breast fed baby and formula
I started supplementing with formula at 4 months also when I went back to work. I used Similac sensitive because she had some stomach issues. I would give formula for her first bottle in the morning, when she started oatmeal I mixed her oatmeal with formula also so it was just easier to do first bottle formula. The rest would be breast and the bottle at night before she went to bed was formula so she would sleep longer. I nursed at night when she was still waking up. I would give the same amount as breast milk, 4 oz.
