Breast Pump - please recommend yours!
I am lost looking at breast pumps - manual vs. electric vs. single vs. double vs. Medela vs. Avent....and on and on.
Could you recommend yours or tell me what you've been advised to get.
Thanks!

This was recommended to me by a friend who works full time and has to pump at the office every day. She BF for a year and swears by this pump. I'm going with the backpack version - it has more room and looks easier to carry.

I have the electric medela double pump (backpack one) and it's great. I don't use it that often yet b/c I mostly BF but the few times I have used it it's quick and easy.

It really depends on how often you plan on pumping. If you're going back to work and plan to pump there, I highly recommend the Medela Pump in Style Advanced. I would not recommend a manual pump if you plan to pump on a regular basis. It takes twice as long, is not as efficient at getting the milk, and tends to hurt your hands after a while.

I got the Avent Isis Duo (I think that's what its called - it's still in the closet)
is due in 5 days so I'll update when/if I use it. I liked this one because of the whole system - easy to pump directly into bottles, store, etc. also, you can sterilize the pump in the avent bottle sterilizer.
ETA: this pump can be used as an electric pump OR manual

I registered for the Medela® Freestyle™ Hands-Free Breast Pump, BPA Free since I plan on breast feeding during maternity leave and I will pump at work and breast feed at night. (I hope it works out that way anyway)

I have this one and have started using it this week. I pump twice a day, and nurse most feedings for now. My DH does a night feeding when he gets home from work now that I'm pumping and it's his time with our little one.
I really like it. It's really easy to use and very lightweight. I chose this one because I am a pharmaceutical rep and will have to pump in my car when I go back to work, so I wanted something very easy to travel with and battery operated.
I got a 20% off buy buy baby coupon and they let me use it on this. But is has to be a buy buy baby coupon not a bed bath and beyond.
