Re: Breast Reduction
Hi, I had a Breast Reduction and a Tummy Tuck with muscle repair and hernia repair a month ago.
I used Dr. James Romanelli in Huntington and had the surgery at Huntington Hospital.
I am a small framed person, and always felt that my chest was too big for my body. I got dents in my shoulders, had numbness and tingling in my arms and hands, and forget about finding a comfortable bra. I was a 36 DD and I think that I am now a B. I am not too sure because I am still wearing a surgical bra.
After I had DD, I got some painful hernias from carrying my giant girly. My Doctor said to get them repaired when I was done having children. Brody was born 5 months ago.
Since I had to get the hernias repaired, I decided to get the Tummy Tuck, because I had soo much extra skin from the pregnancies. Then I thought, that since I was going to be under, I might as well get the Breast Reduction.
I researched the the procedures and consulted many surgeeons before picking the one I did.
So far, I am happy. I still get tired easily and don't lift anything heavier than my 21lb giant baby boy. When everything is totally healed, I'm sure I will be thrilled!!
Anymore questiones, please fire away.
Tara

Re: Breast Reduction
I had a Breast Reduction in 2005 by Dr. Donald Sklansky in Great Neck.. it was the best thing I have ever done.. I was up walking around that day, I didn't need painkillers and I went from a 36DDD to a 36D..
I do have to say that mine grew back a cup size bc I gained weight and that's the first place I gain it.. but they are still full and perky..

Re: Breast Reduction
Oh, I want this done so bad, but am sooo nervous! I have the dents in my shoulders, neck burning and ache. How long is the healing process? What are the negative parts? What is the scarring like for breast & nipples?

Re: Breast Reduction
I was back at work in 4 days. I had some scar tissue removed about 10 years later. Sometimes you can't avoid it.
I would go for a consult and see what the doc says. They have people who work with the insurance company to get it covered. They will give you suggestions on what to do.
Some insurance companies just go by how much they remove..some go by other medical issues like back pain, etc.
