Breast Reduction and pregnancy..

Hello all! I will also post this on parenting, not sure where I will get more responses.

Who here has had a breast reduction prior to a pregnancy?
My questions are..
Did your breasts get large again with your pregnancy? Did they remain large? Do you feel like it was a waste getting the reduction before getting pregnant? Were you able to breast feed?

I thank you I advance for answering my questions. Chat Icon

Re: Breast Reduction and pregnancy..

my bestie had a reduction before her kids.

according to her...while pg they got a tiny bit bigger but after the babies they got much smaller and deflated. again according to her.

now she wants implants not to be big again but to fill out the loss of tissue and make them full again.

gl!

I had a reduction after my pregnancies. My SIL had hers done before. She was even able to breast feed.

She did say that she wishes that she waited because they did grow larger and then deflate, so they were no longer perky.

Re: Breast Reduction and pregnancy..

Had one before I had my 2 kids...I breast fed, but had to supplement with formula...my boobies are still pretty perky and I can get away with not wearing a braChat Icon . It was the best thing I have ever done!...

Also, I gained 50 pounds with my first so my boobs got bigger, and 30 with my second and they got bigger again. I am heavier now than when I had it done, but my boobs still look good!

Can i ask those that had the surgery: how was the recovery? How bad is the scarring? Did ins cover it? I'm considering it for my 40th bday!

Re: Breast Reduction and pregnancy..

It's something I considered, but ultimately decided to wait until I was done having kids. I think the main factor is how old you are and how soon you plan on having kids. When I was young, one OB said get it done now--now is when it matters to you most. I was in my early 20s. Others have said wait. Some say it won't affect breastfeeding. Some say it might. Pregnancy also likely will change them a little, but you never know how much. If someone is really young and unhappy, and not planning on having kids for 10 years or more, I'd say go for it. If they are planning on having kids in the next 3-5 years, and breastfeeding is really important to them, I'd say when until you are done having kids.
