Breastfeeding & supplementing with formula question?
hi,
i'm EBF my 4 month old son, however i was wondering what formula would i give him if i wanted to supplement once in a while?
my ped suggested the Enfamil Gentlease b/c it is very similar to breastmilk??
please let me know what you use or used with your DC...

Similac worked well with my son.
I am goign to start giving DD a formula bottle at night. Because she just isnt sleeping through the night and I am not getting any sleep.

I have supplemented a couple oz of formula since DD was born and I use Similac Advance.
That is what they gave us in the hospital and I had no reason to change.

Similac for us too. I used the Similac Organic (same as the Advance just organic because we use organic).
I started supplementing at 9 weeks old, a bit before I went back to work. Up until last week we supplemented with 12 ounces a day.

It is like drinking heavy cream. It has rice starches added to the formula to thicken it up.

I use earths best organic with dha and ara
he's never had a problem with it... but formula is very baby-specific... what works for one, doesn't for another...
more important is the bottle you use... we have 2 (glass) bottles... evenflo (inexpensive but causes a ton of gas so we don't use it regularly) and born free. the born free bottles work well... he swallows some air, but not that much.... also no nipple confusion....
