breastfeeding moms ... clogged ducts?
i have a massive ammount of clogged ducts on one side. my son nurses on that side but doesn't seem satisfied. I can try to manually express it and alot comes out but for some reason he is not nursing well on that side. I have tried heat, showers, massage, nursing often, nursing on all fours orange juice... what else can i do? nothing is opening up these ducts and i'm afraid of getting mastitis!! any ideas from BTDT moms??? TIA!

I used to get them all the time! Annoying!
I used massage along with warm and cool compresses.
When you massage, massage in circles then down towards your nipple. If baby isn't nursing on that side, i used to either hand express milk or pump so the clogged ducts would heal.
My LC also told me to let warm/cool water hit my breasts in the shower and massage them in there.
Good luck! I had an oversupply of milk the whole time i bf'd and many clogged ducts and bouts of mastitis, it stinks..I hope you get relief!
Also, Don't wear a bra or if you do something with no underwire, or elastic that could dig into your breasts.

thank you!!! oversupply the whole time???? i started to do the block nursing and it seemed to work on my supply but then i pumped 2 nights ago and it messed everything up again! hence the clogged ducts. I don't know what to do.. i need to start pumping to get a freezer supply going.. i have to go back to work soon! But it seems that everytime i pump my oversupply comes back!

Re: breastfeeding moms ... clogged ducts?
Ouch! that hurts -
I only had one incidence of this and it really hurt. I ended up nursing on all fours and thankfully that opened them up as DD was hungry and I only gave her the boob with the clogged duct. I am convinced mine was caused by sleeping in a bra which a friend recommended i do and it definitely did not work for me.
I would try the massaging too while you are feeding him and hopefully your supply will regulate itself soon
