breastfeeding/pumping and burning calories?
Forgive me if this a stupid question but do you burn the same number of calories breastfeeding as you do if you pump?

Yes. The body producing the milk is what causes the calorie burn.
That said though, BF babies often nurse more often than many women choose to pump, so more calories are probably burned from actually BFing than pumping.
