Bridal shower favor?
Is it a "thing" to have favors at a bridal shower? My Goddaughter is getting married and I am (very happily) involved in planning the shower. I can't remember the last time I went to a bridal shower and don't recall if/what the favor was. If we "should" have favors, what are some ideas? (and I know we don't HAVE to do anything, but I want to make this a special day for her, so it's not about having to do something, it's about wanting to)
Thanks!

I think it’s a mix of some have favor others don’t. I say go with anything edible in cute jars or pouches.. cookie, custom candies like the m&ms, little wine bottle with those custom stickers.
I received a silver ice cream scooper from a bridal shower once and I loved it lol, heart shaped cookie cutter, small picture frame - something useable if you don’t go the edible route.

Bridal shower favor?
Yes, to me it’s standard to have a favor. I know the newer generation wouldn’t expect it but the older generation definitely will.
Since it’s women you can do beauty products or anything the pp recommended.

This. Unless it’s edible it ends up being a dust collector.
ETA I know this is for a shower, but I’ve heard wedding favors are out for sure unless they’re one of those exit station type things. I forgot where I read it but apparently they’re very “dated,” which I think is great because I’ve had candles and soaps and other assorted crap I couldn’t fit in my clutch thrown in various cars and forgotten until I returned the lease.

Re: Bridal shower favor?
Do something edible like a custom cookie or some good chocolates. I'll never turn my nose up at food!

Edible favors. Everything else is a waste.

Bridal shower favor?
I'm not a huge fan of favors. But if it's something edible or something I can use and not have to save, I like it. So anything edible, perfect. And, once, a friend told me they got a little bar of soap wrapped up with a note on it that said...From my shower to yours... Cute!

Re: Bridal shower favor?
I’ve gotten favors at the showers I’ve been to recently. One was hot chocolate, one was wine, and one was fuzzy socks.

I like these ideas. Don't do anything labeled with the bride/groom's names or dates. Who wants a wine glass or candle with someone else's name on it? Or any name on it for that matter!

Bridal shower favor?
I like when the floral centerpiece is raffled off. Other then that, I don't want it.

Re: Bridal shower favor?
For my sister-in-laws we gave out cake servers. I still use mine a lot. I like stuff you can use. I don't even care for edible favors bc they go in the garbage. The ice cream scoop is a good one too.
My mother in law and I did a cooking theme for the shower and had someone come in and do a food demonstration and called up helpers. It was fun.
I like the timed gift as well. Instead of cheesy games a timer goes off and if the bride is opening your gift then you get a prize. Give out good prizes too. Target GC's are always good. LOL

Re: Bridal shower favor?
You can but don't have to. I personally like the edible favors. For my bridal shower, my mom and sister gave out chocolate. For my sister's bridal shower, I bought pretty 'LOVE' glass coasters. I still see many people using them in their homes 7 years later.

Funny you mention the cake server, because at the wedding they gave out the matching cake server to the ice cream scooper. It was heavy duty and good quality set.

Yes I think its standard to have a favor. But like others said I would do something edible because most things get tossed in the garbage.

Yes, I think it is standard to give a favor. I agree with the PP's...something edible or consumable. I got Tate's cookies once which was great. I got a bottle of spring rose from Pindar which I liked.I actually used measuring spoons I got from someone else's shower too.

If you give soap, be sure to mention it’s soap. My bff once took a bite out of a heart shaped bar of soap thinking it was white chocolate.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll do a cookie or chocolate favor (but the soap one sounds cute too!)

All of this.
If it’s not edible (my favorite) then something useful. I still use the cake cutter I got from one shower a million years ago. And I have a bottle opener I still use as well

Re: Bridal shower favor?
every shower i've been to has had something. typically edible is best. Candles, trinkets and stuff just add clutter.
cute cookies or chocolates, or soaps / scrubs are always good too.

Re: Bridal shower favor?
I think it's nice to have a favor, and I don't think I've been too many showers without out...I do agree with having an edible favor though! I also like little seasonal decorations, but I don't know that everyone does.
