bridal shower gift

I'm in the Bridal Party and each of the bridemaids has given money towards the cost of the shower and a gift. I still want to do something on my own.

I was waiting for my invitation to find out where they registered...but the MOH didn't send the Bridemaids Invites...she figured we already knew when and where.

So needless to say there really isn't anything left on the registry. So I was thinking of getting a basket or Tub and filling it with decorations for each holiday that they celebrate. Does this sound like a nice idea or a stupid idea?

I just afraid of giving them a gift that makes them think...What was Dannielle thinking?

Re: bridal shower gift

Here it is- I think she turned hers around a bit... but this is the generally idea..

It was a big hit!

A basket of candles that come in a pair
In all different colors, for you two to share
The white ones burn first
They are wrapped in white lace
To celebrate your first married night
In your new chosen place.
The green pair is taller, and also much thinner
Burn with the first company, you have over for dinner.
The dark blue candles are for after your first fight
Use them to burn while making up all night.
Pink candles set the mood and pave the way
For your first married Valentine’s Day.
Now, when your first year of marriage is through
The cream anniversary pair, will light for you two.
Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright
Celebrate promotions you’ve worked toward with all of your might.
By this time we hope, maybe, just maybe
You can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby.
And just when you thought you’d put these away
Take the light blue ones out-for your fifth anniversary day.
Now just one more pair left - for the big 2 5
The anniversary pair that will keep your love alive.
Congratulations xx and xx
On the start of your forever
May the two of you always be happy together
And burn these candles
Just the way we said
But please don’t forget-blow them out before bed!

At a shower I recently attended, someone made a "honeymoon survival basket" with flip flips, sunblock, champaigne, glasses, bath and massage oils, luggage tags, maps of where they were going, disposable cameras, and a photo album that said "Honeymoon". It was very creative

I like this idea also...now I'm so stumped as to what to do.

Re: bridal shower gift

i love the basket idea! i kinda waited until the last minute last year to go shopping for DH's cousins shower so what i did was buy all the little things left on the registry that no one ever buys (the ice cream scoopers, chip and dips, etc) and put them all into a gigantic basket! she loved it!!!! i may just do baskets now for all the showers!Chat Icon

Re: bridal shower gift

I love the candle poem, and if they have candle holders on their registry that are not bought, you can add them to the basket..

I have some poem ideas, here is the honeymoon~

Recipe for a Happy Honeymoon

Ingredients
• 1 Towel for Two
• Sunblock
• Lip Balm
• Camera

Combine ingredients at beach.
Add newlyweds, a few
frosty beverages and bake
in the sun for at least 2 weeks.
Serves 2

Wishing you a lifetime of
love and happiness! Congratulations and
have a wonderful time on your honeymoon!

The household poem

It is only fair that we let "her name" in on a little SECRET. " (his name)" may be FANTASTIC but wait
until she finds out that he is not MR. CLEAN. He'll expect her to be a DYNAMO in the kitchen
and he thinks all women should MOP & GLOW. At night he'll wake you up at DAWN to SNUGGLE
up close. We all AGREE that "her name and his name" will have a very happy LIFE together. Our wish for
you is that your home be filled with JOY and you remain as happy as ever in the

We gather together with you to celebrate the --1-- (dawn) of a new --2--
(era). Marriage is a journey. Some days it will be pure --3-- (joy) but
Let's take a moment and talk about the others.

There may come a time when you realize your big --4-- (brawny) guy isn't
Necessarily --5-- (Mr. Clean). When this and other little glitches
Occur, don't --6-- (shout) or send up an --7-- (SOS). Go --8-- (easy-on)
Him. Hopefully the --9-- (Tide) will change quickly, tensions will
--10-- (vanish), and things will --11-- (bounce) back to normal.

We think(insert names)are a --12-- (fantastic) couple with a --13--(zest)
For life and a sincere appreciation for each other. We fully support you
As you and Greg --14-- (pledge) to spend your lives as one.

We wish you all the best... Including love, happiness and lots of time to
--15-- (snuggle).

Re: bridal shower gift

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I think that I am actually going to now do 2 baskets...one with the candles...and one with the cleaning products.
