Bridal SHower Ideas
My best friend is getting married and we are looking for ideas for what do at the shower. The gifts are going to be displayed. What were some things you did/saw that you liked? And what were things you hated?

I'm not really sure what you're asking. Do you mean games or stuff for people to do or do you want ideas on how things might look?

Re: Bridal SHower Ideas
At my shower there was a table with all the gifts and the wishing well right next to it. There were games like bingo, trivia about the bride/how well do you know the bridge and the bubble gum game - this is where you have to get the groom to be involved. Basically you ask the groom a bunch of questions before the shower. (My sister asked DH about a week or so before and took down all his answers.) Then I was brought front and center and had to get all his answers. When I got one wrong I put a piece of gum in my mouth. This was the huge bubbalicious stuff too. I think I got 7 wrong. It was hysterical and fun. I think we also had an unscramble game.
There is also the toiletpaper game. You can make a crossword puzzle. I can't think of anything else. I think these are all typical for showers.

ideas I hate-displaying the gifts and not having the bride-to-be open them. Sorry, can't stand this "newish" thing. But I'm traditional
Games, I like Bingo (but then again you would have to open this gifts to do so), Toliet Paper Dress, Pocketbook Game.

Judging from the OP, that's already set for the shower...
I personally love this idea and wish I had a display shower. Half the guests talked throughout the entire time I opened presents anyway.

Re: Bridal SHower Ideas
Things I thought were cute at my shower: -MOH made up a quiz about me with questions like What's my fave movie, drink, etc., Where did I meet my DH, Where did I last go on vacay, What's my middle name. -Someone made me a quilt and had everyone at the shower sign it. I have it hanging in my guest room now. (i think this is nice even just with a guest book or wish bowl) -On the invite my mom requested that everyone bring a recipe. She collected them in a recipe box for me at the shower.

Re: Bridal SHower Ideas
Since games are usually to occupy time while the bride to be opens gifts, I would pass on them and schedule the party for less time.
Do you have a theme in mind? I read about a tea party shower - serve different teas, small sandwiches, the centerpieces were arranged in different tea pots, the favors were were personalizes tea baga that had Tea for Two printed on them. I always thought it sounded nice. Even with out the tea party menu i think it's a nice theme.
