Bridesmaid make up Question
I am a bridemaid in my friends wedding along with my sister and another friend of ours. The dresses are navy blue. My friend (the bride) was talking to a comsetician she works with and said that mauves would look good for the eye shadow and for pencil, either navy blue or brown. The woman from the place we got the dresses from had suggested something in the bronze family. What would you think? Also, does hair and eye clor play a role choosing color make up also? The bridesmaids all have different hair and eye color.

honestly, I think it is dependant on your skin tone. not everyone looks good in mauve eye colors.

ITA. I was always a firm believer in that you don't match your makeup to your clothing, you wear what looks best on you!
However, I too am in a wedding and was instructed NOT to wear any pink or berry tones. Being that I am fair with "cool" undertones, most of my makeup (blush, lipstick, lipgloss, etc) has a pink hue.
This must be a new thing. I never told my BMs what they should wear for their makeup.

Re: Bridesmaid make up Question
I just let my makeup artist do whatever my girls wanted, or whatever she thought would look good on them. I said just make them look amazing!
Our dresses were indigo blue (the color of my icon) and I don't even remember what she used on them, i can check our pictures if you want.
I usually think eyemakeup depends more on eye color and coloring than clothing color...
bronzes look great with blue eyes and so they would probably look nice with a blue dress, but i dont know about other colors.
i think pink eyeshadow can make you look sick or like you have pinkeye unless it's really dramatic so be careful

I agree that I would use what flatters your eye and skin color and not worry about the dress...especially with navy, which is totally neutral....I would say go with whatever colors look good with your eyes, nothing will clash with navy!
