Re: Bringing children to the hospital
I would not. Last week I went to look for my friend in the maternity ward and I left DD with DH.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
I would I brought my 1 year old to see her new cousin at the hospital
She got purelled after we left since she was all over the place At least with a 6 month old you can control what they touch and where they sit. I'd just make it was okay with the new mommy

IMO, I dont think so... I know that when cadi was born i didnt really want other babies around her especially when first born.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
Depends on the circumstances.
But no, for the most part, I HATE taking my kids to the hospital for any reason. Too many germs and diseases lurking there.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
No.
I would not and did not want any kids in the hospital when DS was born except when he was in the nursery and I still wont at 9 months bring him around babies now.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
I wouldn't, plus the hospital might not allow a child that young anyway. I know when I gave birth, they stressed no visitors under 12 unless they were a sibling.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
I wouldnt. I did when my sisters baby was born only becuase we had no one to leave her with and my sister insisted. However she came home from the hospital with her first 103 degree fever ever ..so no more hospital visits for her.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
I wouldn't mind at all if you were coming to visit me Stuff like that doesn't bother me.
I brought Andrew when he was about 19 months to see someone that just had a baby. And no one had a problem with it at all.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
I've done it because I didn't have a babysitter but I wouldn't if I had the choice.
Be prepared for the nurses to consider ripping the baby out of your arms. I think the first thing they thought was a baby was being stolen.

Sure, whats the big deal really? You will be holding your DC (or someone else will), it's not like they will be running around everywhere and causing chaos. I don't see any problem with it.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
When I was in the hospital it didnt matter-they had certain hours where baby was out for grandparents to visit but during general visiting hours ALL babies were in the nursery so it was fine to bring babies or whoever.
I say ask the new mommy if she minds.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
My friend brought her son to the maternity ward when i had my baby. I think it will be okay since that part of hospital isnt sick, its the baby ward.

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
I would ask the Mommy. I brought Damien and Jaidy to see there new cousin in the hospital. It also depends on the hospital. Damien was being rambunctious after being there for 20 minutes and the nurse told me if he didn't calm down I would need to leave with him.

I agree with this. Then again, I'm not too concertavie when it comes to transfering germs and stuff.
We went to visit my friend and her almost 3 month old and Steven put his finger in the baby's mouth and I thought my friend was going to have a heart attack

Re: Bringing children to the hospital
I wouldn't and some hospitals don't allow children who aren't siblings. I also wouldn't want my 6 month old exposed to any of the hospital germs.
