Bringing Food/Water into Disney or Universal
Hi. Do you know if you can bring your own bottled water, soda, sandwiches, or other food into the Disney Parks? What about Universal Studios? My sister is planning a trip to Orlando this summer and was wondering. They are staying off-site and renting a car.
Thanks!

You can definitely bring in drinks like bottle water. No glass, plastic only. I believe you can bring in food, but there are restrictions on things like coolers etc. we have always brought bars, Cheerios, goldfish in. I am sure you can bring say a pb&j in a zip lock with no problem.

Disney you can for sure bring food. We always stay off site and bring a cooler (the soft kind) filled with sandwiches, water, fruit, and snacks. We were just there last week, they will search it, but you can bring it all in.
Not sure about universal. I haven't been there since college.

Universal is strict, and I don't think you can bring in food, or more than one bottle of water. I would double check on one of the Universal blogs though

For Disney it is no problem as long as they use a soft cooler. They do not allow large, hard plastic coolers.
Universal Studios is has a stricter policy. This is their list... Acceptable items:
Bottled water Small snacks that do not require heating Any food required for medical purposes and medically–indicated nutritional supplements Any food required for special dietary needs Baby food/baby formula Soft-sided insulated bags no larger than 8.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep
Prohibited items:
Picnic lunches Food that requires heating or refrigeration Alcohol and glass containers Hard-sided coolers Soft-sided coolers larger than 8.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep Coolers, suitcases, and bags with wheels Folding chairs Clothing with offensive language or content Clothing that represents someone as emergency personnel

just note that you cannot bring a wheeled cooler into Disney even if it is soft-sided.
