Britax Convertible Car Seat
I was at Babies R Us this week and began registering. I couldn't find extra bases for the Britax car seat, has anyone put extra bases on their registry? I saw a ton of infant extra bases, but none for convertible car seats.

I don't think that there is such thing as a base for a convertible car seat-- it is all one piece. Infant car seats are not attached to the base so you can carry them around, but you can't do that with convertible car seats. They are way too heavy anyway!

Oh Okay! That would make sense. So in order to put it in another car the entire seat would have to come out.

There is no extra base for the car seat. What you saw on the car seat that looks like a base is actually attached and helps the seat to move comfortably into different reclining positions.

You really shouldn't move the convertible car seat from car to car on a regular basis. Many people with two cars register for or buy 2 convertible seats.

Re: Britax Convertible Car Seat
I would recommend getting two separate convertible seats. DW and I have two seats in each of our cars. There have been several occasions where I had to pick up one or more DC from somewhere with my truck because the car was unavailable. If I didn't have my own seats, I would be stuck.
Plus, once the seat is secured properly, you don't want to undo it that often. It just makes more of a chance of installing it incorrectly.
