Broadway show you didn't like
We always list shows we'd love to see. Is there any show that everyone seems to love, but you despised? Hated? etc?
I actually hated Cats. I was 13 when I saw it though. I also don't like Cats and even if I hear any songs from that show I cringe.
I LOVED Book of Mormon. Would see it again in a heartbeat. One of my close friends saw it last year on my recommendation for their anniversary and both hated it.

I actually thought Wicked was boring. But that was over 7 years ago. Maybe if I watched it again; I'll like it.

Broadway show you didn't like
I was 7 when I saw Cats, so it was cool to me, but were I to see it now, I don't think I'd enjoy it. I can't think of one that I hated, there are shows I liked more than others - I saw Jane Eyre years ago and it's not one that I would have gone back to see (I think it was a tKTS day for me and my mom). There was that Billy Joel show a few years back (probably 9 years ago now) that I liked, but didn't love. There are shows that are just fun versus classic - like Saturday Night Fever and Wedding Singer were fun, but Into The Woods and How to Succeed are classics. KWIM?

Broadway show you didn't like
Several years ago I saw "Big" the musical, as in the Tom Hanks movie but a musical. I must have been a teenager at the time. I just remember being so bored. I felt like I could have just stayed home and watched the movie.

Re: Broadway show you didn't like
I remember seeing Phantom of the Opera when I was 16 and thought it was super boring.
My favorite show so far was the Odd Couple with Nathan Lane & Matthew Broderick, love them together. I also saw them in The Producers which I thought was great as well.
DH got me tickets for Book of Mormon for my 30th and some of it was funny, but I thought it was going to be a lot better (esp since the tickets were so expensive!)

Broadway show you didn't like
Jekyll and Hyde was boring. Also secret garden and the scarlet pimpernel. Both of those were school trips. Snooze.
I finally saw Les Mis last weekend! I've wanted to see it ever since I was a kid. Sooo good! I also loved Rent. I'm a total Renthead! Really liked if/then and i saw streetcar named desire (might have been off Broadway) with Natasha Richardson as Blanche and John C. Reilly as Stanley. Soooo good!

Lion King--I saw it for my DD's 4th birthday. I never understand why adults recommend it to other adults.
August:Osage County. I think it won a bunch of awards, and I felt like it was a show you were supposed to make believe you thought was amazing just because of that fact.

Same here!
Also I saw Bring in da Noise, Bring in fa Funk on a school trip and hated that. I was so upset the class picked that over Rent.
People disliking Wicked and Miss Saigon make me sad though. Love those

I wasn't crazy about it either. Boring & cheezy. Some of the songs were ok.

also, hated Rent AFTER the movie came out. They changed the broadway show to match the movie, and it was horrible.

Re: Broadway show you didn't like
Book of Mormon. I think we had the understudy to the understudy and he did a horrible job for the lead role. We also had the understudy for the second lead also. There was only polite clapping. You could see that the lead guy kept flubbing his lines. The other cast members were correcting him. It felt like a high school production, and no where near the caliber I expect of a broadway show. It was the only time I have been to a broadway show and there was no standing ovation. They quickly closed the curtains too. They knew it was bad.
The other show that I did not care for was the Putnam spelling bee.

That's so disappointing considering how popular it is and how difficult tickets are to come by. I'd be pissed!
