Bronx or Queens Zoo for 14 month old?
We were going to do the Bronx Zoo in June, but we never got around to it. Do you think he would enjoy it at 14 months or should we start with the smaller Queens Zoo for this year?

Bronx or Queens Zoo for 14 month old?
We took DD at 12 months to the Bronx Zoo and she was not yet interested. DD is only 13 months now and she is definitely more aware than she was a month ago, but I wouldn't make the trip to the Bronx for it yet personally.
On a side note, we didn't do the unlimited pass and I felt like there wasn't much to see. I have heard that other people felt that way too.

I would say that at that age I would not go to the Bronx Zoo. We took our DD to the game farm where the animals are closer at 13 months and it was still a bit too young. The Bronx Zoo animals are pretty far away or behind a glass which is a little much for little ones (at least for mine) to notice. We took her this year at 2 yrs and she really enjoyed it.

the quuens zoo is great. very small and manageable. it also has a great farm where you can feed the animals.

Re: Bronx or Queens Zoo for 14 month old?
I think it depends on the kids. Mine loved the Bronx Zoo at 12 months. We do the membership so we only stayed until they got tired. The Queens Zoo is cute for younger kids and a nice morning. Very different from the Bronx Zoo. Have you considered the membership? It includes 4 zoos and the aquarium. If you do the Bronx zoo, Queens zoo, and aquarium once it has paid for itself. (It also includes the prospect and central park zoos).

Bronx or Queens Zoo for 14 month old?
Thanks ladies! I think we will attempt the Queens Zoo maybe in September when the weather is cooler. If he enjoys it we will try the Bronx in the spring and then consider a membership. We did the NY aquarium when he was 11 months and he seemed to enjoy it. This age is so hard. Last summer he was a newborn so we stayed home in the AC a lot or went visiting family/friends at their homes. This year he would be bored staying home but he is to young for things like Adventureland, long days at the beach, or children's museums. Luckily we have a 4 day trip planned next week and a week long trip in August to spice things up a bit!

Bronx or Queens Zoo for 14 month old?
We took DD at 9.5 months and she enjoyed it. But she also LOVES animals and just being outside and seeing people. She is 12 months now and we just did the NY Aquarium and she loved that too.

Re: Bronx or Queens Zoo for 14 month old?
We took DD to both the Bronx & Queens Zoos last summer when she was 11-12 months old. She liked seeing the animals at both, however, IMO the Bronx Zoo was just too big and crowded. She had just as much fun at the Queens Zoo (and also at the Queens County Farm - small, quiet and free!)
