I did a spin off of this. Our walls are a light, creamy gold color. We painted one wall in the living room a silvery blue. I'm using accents to throw in some chocolate (dec pillow, area rug, etc).
So, my wall colors aren't too trendy, but I bought some other "low ticket items" to make it pop.

I do like it alot ...and it is pretty trendy right now. I just designed a quilt for my guild's block of the month - it was all blue/chocolate Amy Butler fabrics, it was a huge hit, we sold all of the blocks (turquois/green/pink - is also a popular combo right now)
But the way I see it, changing paint color is a pretty inexpensive decorating option, that can make a big impact. So I keep my furniture neutral but can still change the look of a room with paint and curtains or bed linens

my bedroom wall color is a light blue/gray. i have dark wood furniture, lamps, art frames and drapery rods. duvet color is beige, sheets and lamps shades are ivory. area rug has tan, ivory, light blue, green and yellow. LOVE the combo.

we did our basement family room in Brown with blue 4 years ago, I love it but I'm glad I painted the walls beige & brown & the furniture is chocolate because I'm ready for a change so I'm switching the accents which were blue(pillows, vase & other stuff) to green.

I love it!! our living room is the brown and blue. Our accent wall is a chocolate brown, with the rest of the walls a sand color. Our couch is a khaki color with chocolate brown and blue throw pilliows. and i'm going to accent the walls with blue curtains.

Our MBR is Brown & Blue. The walls are a light slate blue and our furniture is dark cherry. I love the color combo. It might be trendy right now, but I still love the colors. Very calming for the bedroom. I will also do my den in slate blue and cream once we are ready to remodel.
This is an older pic. I have a darker slate blue drape with brown sheers underneath.

Can you post a picture of you room. I have the same wall color with a brown accient wall and dark wood furniture but having a hard time putting the whole room together?

i love it.
I left the walls a neutral color and my current comforter set is brown and turquise incl. the decorative pillows to match and also have valances that match as well.
