brutally honest opinions wanted... logo
i picture isn't the best, but i hope you get the idea.
this is my first attempt at a "logo"
please tell me if you like it, don't like it, and if anything is "unclear" about what to expect.

Re: brutally honest opinions wanted... logo
I like the logo.
Two minor critisims:
The spacing between the "S" and the first "t" is a litte wide.
And the curly ends to the "t"s made them look like "f"s to me at first.
But the idea is very cute - I love the paintbrush and yarn! And the tagline is cute too.

Re: brutally honest opinions wanted... logo
It's very cute and clearly conveys what your company is-- however, I think it's a little busy and it takes a little long to take it all in.
The fact that you are mostly dealing in knits and sewing, I would focus on your core line of business-- the stiches and the paint brush is just too busy. Maybe because the logo is small on here, I really needed to stare up close to see what the paint brush was-- I thought it was a flying knitting needle at first.
I really like the font and it ties back to your service/product.
Some suggestions for simplifying would be to use the ball of yarn as the dot on the "i"-- see what that looks like. You really need to experiment with all of the elements that you have here, and do as many different logos that you can think of-- then see which one you like the best-- this is typically how logo exploration is done-- tons and tons of options are developed. That is where the best ideas come from-- trial and error.
All in all-- I think it's a really great start-- but you don't want your customer to work too hard in figuring out what you do-- and since you are not Kraft, Apple or Best Buy-- you logo needs to be telegraphic in your message.
