BTDT - babies cooperation for anatomy scan sono
for women who found out the gender at their sono (this pregnancy or past)... was your baby cooperative the 1st time? we have our appt june 4th and i'm sooo excited to find out. i'm just wondering how common it is that the baby positions itself so that you can't find out? and for women who this happened to, how long before they had you come back for a 2nd try? the anticipation is killing me!!

Re: BTDT - babies cooperation for anatomy scan sono
First pregnancy, was completely cooperative and we found out at 19 w 3 d at the anatomy scan.
This pregnancy, was so cooperative, we found out at 12 w 4 d at our NT u/s! It was confirmed last Monday at 19 w 2 d at our anatomy scan.
I've never had uncooperative babies or needed a repeat. I didn't do anything like drink OJ or sweets or anything. But I've heard to bring a small thing of OJ with you just in case they're not facing the right way because drinking it can perk them up. I meant to do that with my first pregnancy and forgot but it didn't matter.

Sort of. The tech was able to guess at 12 weeks with DD. At 20 weeks, she was shy... so they were rolling me around on the exam table and were poking my belly to get her to move so they could confirm. Don't worry, it'll work out!!

Re: BTDT - babies cooperation for anatomy scan sono
For my 20 week scan, my LO was very active and moving around plenty to allow the tech to get a good look and say for certain that she's a girl. When I went to a 3D sono place at 16 weeks though, was NOT cooperating at all! She had her legs crossed, her back to us, and seemed to be sleeping because no matter what the tech did (having me walk around, drink cold water, pee, poking my belly with the scanner) nothing could get LO to change positions. So I don't know if I was just lucky that she was awake and active for my 20 week scan. I did eat a banana and have a couple sips of coffee on the way there so many that perked her up a bit. Good luck with your scan! The anatomy scan is pretty long, mine lasted about a half hour, so there's a good chance that at some point during the scan your LO will get into a good position.

I found out at 16 weeks and confirmed again at 20 weeks both times she was cooperative. I recently went for my 32 week growth scan and they check again but she was completely uncooperative lol

Re: BTDT - babies cooperation for anatomy scan sono
We went at 20 weeks and LO was very active. It took awhile to get all the measurements they needed. The tech had no problem figuring it out abd showed us. The doc came in and told us too. When I had a growth sono at 24 weeks I had that tech verify
