BTDT C-Section mamas
I have a silly question. A friend of mine (who is due in December with her first) was telling me that when they do a c-section they take out all organs and stuff in the way and "put them on the side" until the baby is out and then they basically put you back together.
Is this true? It sounds absolutely crazy to me.
I probably sound so naive  None of my friends have had a c-section, so I can't even ask them.

this can't be true...you are conscious when you have a C Section...removing organs sounds like major surgery and you'd probably have to be knocked out!

This is what I was trying to tell her. Thank goodness I am not alone in thinking her version is hog wash.

I had a csection and thisI did notit happen. You are completely conscious the whole time and it doesn't take that long. "Removing" organs and setting them aside is ridiculous.

i have not had a c section, but will with this pregnancy. i believe they move your organs to get to uterus, but not take them out.

its actual not that crazy - they did move my sisters organs and place them on top of her belly (I believe it was the intestines and stuff. I know this bc my BIL came into the surgery late and saw it. Also my DH peeked over the curtain on mine and he said I had stuff on my belly as well. They dont "remove" them and reattach - maybe thats where the confusion is. But they def take some stuff out and move it out of the way.
