BTDT: dogs and babies
We have an adorable, lovable 11 month old Boston Terrier who has received all of our attention since bringing him home last August. He's smart, obedient and really friendly, except he cries around children. It's like he's scared of them and this is worrying me and DH a bit because he'll have a new little master in just a few months. I don't want to shield him from the baby, I want him to interact normally with him/her. So I'm looking for some advice or for those of you who've BTDT: How did you introduce the baby to your newborn? How did you establish routine around interaction with the baby? What was it like bringing the baby home to a house where the dog has been "the baby"?
OOPS! Meant to post this on Parenting...but I since I know there's lots of loving dog owners on this board, I'll ask the same question: What are your plans and how will you establish routines when you bring your newborn home to a house where the dog has received all the attention?
