BTDT moms - Is it ok to have a floor lamp in the nursery?

BTDT moms - Is it ok to have a floor lamp in the nursery?
Our nursery doesn't currently have an overhead light so we were going to put in two floor lamps from pbk. But, my DH was just asking me if this was safe because once DS is crawling/walking he can knock it over. Does anyone have floor lamps in their nursery or do i have to install an overhead light?

I don't but i have one in our living room and my son is obsessed with it. He goes for the cord.

i personally wouldn't ...it would just worry me too much
we have a lamp on a nightstand in his room and he would always touch it as soon as he could stand...he loves turning it on

I guess it would depend on your baby, with mine, I could never.
He is a climbing monkey and I had to move his dresser into his closet to keep him off of it.
We seriously have to staple all wires down to the walls so he doesn't run off with them.
