BTDT moms - question about nursing tops
Hi, sorry to crash!
2 weeks 3 days to go here! ( ) My parents are going to be visiting us from the States and of course I see it as a perfect opportunity to order some clothes and have them bring them over Anyway, I am planning on BFing almost exclusively (perhaps pumping some so others can feed the baby too). Anyway, can you recommend what I might need in terms of nursing tops - or what you liked/used the most? From what I gather most nursing moms live in spaghetti strap camis under other tops, but any advice is much appreciated!
Thank you!

I never wore anything special, just regular clothes.

Re: BTDT moms - question about nursing tops
I liked the nursing camis at Mimi Maternity and Target...I also liked the Medela brand nursing bras. I didn't wear nursing tops though...I used my own shirts with the cami under it so there was no chance of anyone seeing my stomach! I always used a nursing shawl so no one could see much anyway.

Re: BTDT moms - question about nursing tops
I rarely wore anything specifically designed for nursing, but I did have to plan my outfits around access.
I often wore bra tanks, either alone (in the summer) or under another shirt/sweater. They were great in that if I had to lift/unbutton my shirt, I wasn't exposing skin and I could just pull the tank down to nurse.

Re: BTDT moms - question about nursing tops
I lived in Target nursing tanks and Glamourmom nursing tanks (GREAT for layering underneath)

Re: BTDT moms - question about nursing tops
I seem to remember that I wore lots of button downs. I did buy nursing bras but that was it as far as special clothes.
Good luck!

Same here. I have 2 nursing shirts from Motherhood Maternity that were ok. Otherwise I just lifted (or took off) my shirt and bra.

Re: BTDT moms - question about nursing tops
I think the nursing tanks are good initially for bedtime, but most of the time-- I wear tanks and vnecks that I can pull my boobs out of the top. You definitely need new clothes, but it's all about access to boobs-- and IMO a lot of the clothes designed specifically for nursing, are a waste and I didn't like the way they fit/looked.

Re: BTDT moms - question about nursing tops
I wore the nursing tank tops from target in the beginning, but I got sick of them because they don't fit that well.
I find myself wearing tank tops, v-necks or button downs that I can pull my boobs out of the top (im not that big though, maybe a small C cup). For the summer I have been wearing a lot of spaghetti strap tanks with the shelf bra (not much support though) and a lot of Maxi dresses.... In the winter I wore a lot of button down shirts. Maybe buy one or two and see how you like them.

Re: BTDT moms - question about nursing tops
Like others have mentioned, I have been wearing the Target nursing tanks and Medela nursing bras. I nursed 2 kids and never had a nursing top.
