BTDT Moms - summer camp and sickness
I was all excited when I got the flyer for DS's school summer camp, trying to decide how many weeks to put him in for. Then I remembered how sick he has been since he started school and he's had a cold every other week. Do kids get as sick during the summer in school as they do during the winter months? Should I just take the summer off so he can not have a cold for the summer or will it not be as bad? Thanks!

Re: BTDT Moms - summer camp and sickness
I sent my 3 y.o. DS to camp three half-days a week last summer. It was his first "school" experience. He did not get sick once.
He started nursery in September (5 half days a week) and he has been sick almost every week, including two ear infections and one bout of strep throat
I think the germs aren't as bad in the summer (obviously). Also, I think the camp was FAR more diligent about hand washing. (I think because they had a day care license and were inspected by the Board of Health).
