BTDT Moms: 10 month old on the plane to Fl. What should I come armed with? What can I carry on the plane? HELP
Can I bring bottles and food on the plane? I didn't get him a seat and now I am worried, bc he is in the whole crawling, creeping, standing mode. How will I entertain him?

You are allowed to bring formula. We called ahead and the airline told us the bottle had to be sealed. You can also use powder and ask for water on the plane or buy it once you pass security.
We had the front row so DS walked from the window to the aisle a couple times (DH and I were the only ones in the row.) We brought a few touch and feel books to keep him occupied but on the way there he slept the whole way (night flight).
On the way back he was more active and looked through his books and walked (holding the seats) a few times and I gave him a bottle and he took a nap.
When is your flight? He might nap if the timing is right. My suggestion is books, a favorite toy and a DVD if he likes to watch TV. HTH

bring a few toys and some books. honestly, Luce was so excited looking at his fellow passengers (the short time that he was awake to see them) and walking up and down the aisles that he wasn't all that interested in play things.
if you are flying around nap time, bonus. Luce slept so much of his flights I think b/c of the motor.

ITA.
I haven't flown in almost 6 months but, DS was interested in looking at people and then passed out for the rest of the flight since it was at naptime.
I brought a bottle of formula that was opened and I had no problem - DS got hungry on the security line since it was so long and I had to open it. They just waved a wand over it to make sure it was ok. You can bring food as well.

You can bring anything if you have a baby... food, formula, water... don't worry about that!
We flew when DD was 9 months and 11 months and she was great except for the flight home at 11 months. She got overtired and the flight was delayed, everything worked against us.
My advice... give a bottle (or nurse) during take off but wait til you are actually "next in line to take off"!!
We are flying again next month and DD will be 16 months, we are bringing snacks, new toys she's never seen, her favorite books and a portable DVD player.

DS was pretty happy playing with the window. He also watched the wiggles and ate/played with his snacks.
A flight to FL is so short!

I don't know about alll airlines, but Southwest did not have water on our flight.
I bought a bottle of water after I got through security, so at least I had that to make his formula.
But if I didn't buy anything before we boarded, I would have been screwed.

We flew with DD to Florida when she was about 9 months old. This was over a year ago but you could bring formula and food for the baby. I would have some items to interest him, books, toys, doll, something from home he likes and maybe one new toy/book. Make sure to give a bottle/nurse or a pacifier during takeoff and landing.

Yes, you can bring a reasonable amount of bottles and food. We flew when DS was also 10 months. Do not let him touch the floor of the plane, so he doesn't realize it is a place he can move about. We bought a mini DVD player and played it without the sound, it was a lifesaver.

I am flying again to FL in two weeks with my 8 month old. Bring formula if you FF, snacks, books, toys, diapers, wipes, change of clothes for both of you, blanket. You definitely don't need a second seat and you will be surprised how much everyone loves a little baby on a plane. Including flight attendants!

Did you book your seats already? What I have learned is to choose the window and aisle seat leaving the middle seat open. On the 4 flights DS has been on this worked for us 3 times. We were able to bring his car seat on the plane and didn't pay for the seat.
You can carry unlimited amts of formula and water. I had A LOT of bottles of RTF 32 oz Similac in my carry on plus a sippy with water and an unopened bottle of H2O in addition to Xavier's already prepared bottles. As long as you tell them what you have, they are okay with it.
DS was teething so I gave him his teether toys to play with. Don't know if putting cotton in his ears helped but I did that and gave him his bottle or the paci upon take off and landing. I gave it to him once I felt the plane picking up speed or when I heard the tires come out. He did excellent on all the flights and slept for most of them. Everybody was amazed that they never knew an infant was on the plane. He was so quiet. The amt of weight we had on the carry on was insane but it was needed. Thanks to Similac and the darn recall.

Hopefully he will sleep.
I just flew with my 7 month old & you can pretty much bring anything you need for baby. (baby food, water, formula...)
